Delta employee identification badge issued to General Manager C.E. Woolman, Delta's principal founder. Badge was issued as part of World War II security measures.
DetailsOffice desk purchased for C.E. Woolman, Delta's principal founder and first CEO, ca. 1941-1947, after Delta moved its headquarters to Atlanta from Monroe, Louisiana. When C.E. Woolman passed away in 1966, the desk was used by Delta's second CEO, Charles Dolson, until November 1971.
The desk was moved from the CEO's Office and used by various Delta executives over the years, until it transferred to the Delta Flight Museum in 1999. It was on exhibit in Hangar 1 through 2002.
The desk was moved back to the CEO's Office in late 2003 and has been in continual use by Delta's CEOs: Jerry Grinstein in 2004, Richard Anderson in 2007, and Ed Bastian in 2016.

Woolman (head and shoulders), Delta founder and first CEO, in front of the original Delta headquarters in Monroe, Louisiana, with various airplanes from Delta's history: Travel Air, Huff-Daland Duster, Lockheed L-1011, Boeing 767-232, Douglas DC-3, Boeing 727, and the Douglas DC-8. A brass plaque painted on bottom of canvas reads: "C. E. Woolman: 1889-1966 / A pioneer in spirit and leadership -- a man whose life was characterized by integrity, sincerity, and service to others. Delta's accomplishments under his leadership serve as continuing guidelines to provide the high level of airline service that was his constant goal. This great man -- this challenging leader -- will ever live in the memories of many." A Brass plate attached to frame reads: "A Tribute to C.E. Woolman / Presented to Delta by Brad Driggers."
