Remember this? Delta's familiar red, white and blue Widget Logo wore the stars and stripes in 1976. This special design for the U.S. Bicentennial gave a patriot look to the aircraft fleet that year.
Delta's first Bicentennial plane rolled out of the paint shop in October 1975, and took its first flight to Boston, Massachusetts, a city with historic connections to the beginnings of our country.
The phrase “We the People … 1776-1976” in the design, refers not only to the preamble of the U.S. Constitution but to the spirit of the Delta personnel as they celebrated the nation’s 200th birthday.

Happy Fourth of July!
