The Spirit of Delta bids farewell to JFK

The Spirit of Delta touched down February 23 at New York-Kennedy to give a ride to children from Beth Israel Medical Center and the Ronald McDonald House.

Margaret Hoffman, a lead customer service agent based in New York-Kennedy, said she was working at Pan Am during the grassroots effort to buy the plane in 1982 and was impressed by what she was hearing about Delta.

"I had always held a high opinion regarding the professionalism, approachability and sense of family of the Delta staff and that was magnified after I had heard the firsthand account of the story behind The Spirit of Delta," she said. "How fortuitous that I find myself now employed by that company that I was so impressed with those many years ago."
